How to Run a Show
Step-by-step setup wizards for artists and venues — from creating the event to seeing live bids on the jumbotron and getting paid automatically.
Complete your artist profile
Fill out your profile in the Artist Dashboard and finish Stripe Connect onboarding (Banking tab). Your Stripe account receives the bid money directly.
Add your songs & create the concert
Upload your song list (Songs tab), then create the concert (Concerts tab). Choose 'Bidding' mode, set the bidding window (start/end), max bid per song, and the encore cap (the top 1-5 songs by winning bid get played in the encore). Choose whether bids go to you or a charity.
Launch the Live Display on the jumbotron
On the concert page, click 'Launch Live Display' and put the browser in fullscreen on the venue's jumbotron / big screen. This shows a real-time ranked leaderboard of songs and top bids that updates live as fans bid.
Fans bid from their phones
Fans open the concert on their phones and place bids. Each bid authorizes (holds) the amount on their card — they're only charged if their song wins. Every new bid instantly updates the jumbotron and all phones.
Bidding closes — winners are set automatically
When the bidding window ends, the system ranks each song's bids, marks the highest as 'winning' and the rest as 'outbid'. No manual work needed.
Winning bids are charged automatically
Winning bids are captured (charged) to your Stripe account automatically. Losing bids have their hold released — the fan pays nothing. Your share (minus the 5% platform fee) lands in your bank account via Stripe.
How the money works — bidding vs. fixed-price
Two modes: Bidding (stadium/medium shows) — fans compete to win encore slots and pay only if their song wins. Fixed Price (local gigs) — fans pay a set price per song to request it (the digital tip jar), charged immediately.
Bidding — at bid time: the fan's card is authorized (a hold is placed) for their bid amount. No charge yet.
While bidding is open: the live leaderboard (jumbotron + phones) shows the current top bid per song, updating in real time.
Bidding — when it closes: the system ranks each song's bids, marks the top bid per song, then takes the top 1-5 songs (the encore cap you set) as winners and marks the rest outbid. Only encore songs are played and charged; the rest are released at no charge.
Charging winners: winning bids are captured (charged) automatically to the artist's or charity's Stripe account. Losing bids have their hold released — the fan pays nothing. The fan's "My Bids" page shows the result.
Payouts: money flows to the artist's or charity's Stripe Connect account (minus the 5% platform fee) and then to their bank via Stripe payouts.
